Science

Kindergarten 

The science program stresses the importance of providing relevant experiences and interesting activities.   The children learn to make observations, predictions and conclusions.                           

Opportunities are provided for the children to explore, discover and learn about:
 

  • colors, shapes, texture, sorting & classifying
  • hygiene
  • animal adaptations
  • seasons and seasonal changes
  • water and heat
  • birds
  • shadows
  • dental health
  • nutrition
  • wind and weather
  • the five senses
  • seeds and spring planting
  • animal development

First Grade

The Science Program utilizes a multi-media approach.  It is both structured and discovery in nature.  The program includes the following units:

Second Grade

In science we strive to stimulate your child so that he/she becomes more aware of the surrounding world.  The following units may be studied with a team approach.

Our Science curriculum provides opportunities for children to do what scientists do, i.e., collect, classify, observe, experiment, measure and analyze.
