Computer Technology

Kindergarten 

The kindergarten classes are currently using Macintosh computers equipped with CD-Rom players.  Software for the computers supports the classroom curriculum.  The children have use of the computers daily.


The children will learn:

  • to identify & use the components of the computer
  • mouse skills using a variety of software
  • beginning word processing 

First Grade 

Every first grade classroom is equipped with Macintosh computers.  There are computer programs that teachers may choose for their students to provide needed extra practice or enrichment.  Students begin to use word processing skills to create simple poems and stories.  All students visit the computer lab.

Second Grade 

Every second grade classroom is equipped with Macintosh computers.  There are many computer programs that teachers may choose for their students to provide needed extra practice or enrichment.  Children receive instruction in the Computer Lab once a week.  The lab is equipped with 23 Macintosh computers.  Students learn beginning word processing, drawing and file saving.
