The senior class had a colorful start to the school year with a successful “Color Run” fundraiser. The spirited event raised $1,750 to subsidize the Class of 2017 prom.

With the help of the class president Patrick Halpin and vice president Belle Charon, the event ran smoothly and was fun for children and adults. Class advisors Lara Cummo and Jamie Cherkis assisted the students with preparations and on the day of the event.

A color run consists of participants running a set distance and having various colored powders thrown on them at specific points in the course. Runners wear white shirts so the rainbow of colors show prominently by the end of the race.

Ms. Cummo said it was wonderful to see the community participate.  “The seniors are greatly appreciative of the community support.”

The junior class will hold a Color Run in the spring to raise funds for their prom in 2018.
