Two Locust Valley seniors impressed the judges with their performances at the NYSSMA Solo Evaluation Festival this past spring. Marconi D'Auria-Gupta and Carmine D'Auria-Gupta were both selected to play in the All-State Symphony Orchestra based on the scores they received at the festival. Marconi was accepted to play the viola and Carmine to play the violin.

To be considered for the prestigious All-State orchestra, students must score an A+ 100 on a Level 6 piece and receive recommendation from the festival judge. The NYSSMA Winter Conference will be held in Rochester on Dec. 3-6, 2015.

Marconi and Carmine were recognized by the Board of Education for their accomplishments at the Sept. 30, 2015 meeting.
