As has been the case for many years, all LVCSD adults are welcome to participate regularly in the many opportunities that the school district offers through its Continuing Education offerings. The current courses include creative crafts such as ceramics, photography and painting, foreign languages, computer courses, and so much more.
Participants meet with qualified instructors once per week for most classes for one to eight sessions depending on the course. Some classes are held at our own schools, while others take place at off site locations such as art studios or restaurants. The classes are filled with people of all ages taking advantage of what the school district has to offer. Residents rave about their experiences with the program.
Participants in the elegant dining course not only enjoy a gourmet meal, but they also learn how to cook the meal and they get to try local restaurants for well below the menu prices. One participant last fall said she looks forward to signing up for more classes. “I learned so much, I met a delightful group of people, the food was delicious, and it only cost me $12. Where else would I get a night out with a delicious meal, a cooking lesson and lots of laughs for that price?” she said.
Registration for the fall semester will take place from Sept. 12-20 with classes beginning on Sept. 25. Course descriptions and registration forms have been mailed to all district residents and are available on the website (see attachment).
Please join us. You never know what new things you may learn or who you will meet - in our very own community!
