Varsity boys soccer coach Joseph Lee has been selected as the 2021 Nassau County Boys Soccer Coach of the Year, earning the Peter LeSueur Award. The recipient of this award is chosen by the Nassau County Boys Soccer Committee based on the overall results of the year and the coach’s service to the sport.

Al Freeman, Nassau County Boys Soccer Coordinator, said that Coach Lee “has been one of the backbones of boys soccer for a number of years, and combined with Locust Valley’s success this year, he was certainly an ideal candidate.” Coach Lee led this year’s team to earn the title of Nassau County Class B Champions, a first in the history of the Locust Valley boys soccer program.

“There is nobody more deserving of this award than Coach Lee,” said Danielle Turner, Ed.D., Locust Valley’s director of physical education, health and athletics. “On the surface, we see a great soccer team which is well-coached and well-trained, but behind the scenes, Coach Lee goes above and beyond to make sure that each of his athletes keeps up with their school schedules and family.” Dr. Turner said that Coach Lee acts as the players’ “school dad” and has earned the respect of his team and fellow coaches. “We are so proud of Coach Lee and the entire boys’ soccer team on this historic season!” she said.

Congratulations to Coach Lee on this well-deserved recognition!
