Sept. 1 was the start of a new month and a new school year for Locust Valley Central School District students. Summer break was over, but students and staff were happy to see each other in their classrooms, at recess and during specials such as art, physical education and music. Kindergarten students spent time learning the routine, while older students jumped right back in.
Through academic activities, teachers helped students get to know their classmates and set goals for the school year, while beginning lessons in all subject areas and providing mask breaks throughout the day. The energy throughout all the schools was a good sign that a great school year is ahead.
