Rational and Irrational Numbers

Rational numbers are numbers that can be expressed as a ratio of two integers.  All rational numbers can be expressed as either terminating decimals or repeating decimals

Irrational numbers are numbers that are non-terminating and non-repeating decimals.

examples of irrational numbers - Pi, which is the ratio of the circumference of a circle divided by the diameter, this number is a non-repeating/non-terminating decimal, is also a non-repeating/non-terminating decimal
