Notes on Prime and Composite Numbers

Factor: All of the numbers that go into a number evenly are the numbers factors.

Composite Numbers are numbers that have more than two factors, example 4 is divisible by (1,2,4) so 1, 2, 4 are all factors of 4. It has three factors.

Prime Numbers have only two factors, the number itself and 1. 2 is a prime number because the only numbers it is divisible by is 2 and 1. 3 is a prime number because the only numbers it is divisible by is 3 and 1.

The number 1 is not a prime number it has only 1 factor, itself.

Zero is also not a prime number, it has many factors.
