The Middle School newspaper club was given an amazing opportunity to be journalists for the “KidsDay” section of Newsday. Sixth, seventh, and eighth graders met with the “KidsDay” editor to discuss topics and then wrote articles that were published in Newsday.  Several reporters also participated in special events and interviews. Kristina Lollo and Melissa Cooney traveled into New York City and learned how to make chocolate at the Perugina chocolate factory. Faith McQuiston, Isabel Ryan, James Rose, and Joyce Kim were invited to the media opening and press conference for the new Metropolitan Museum of Math in Manhattan. Finally, Kristy Jahchan and Melissa Cooney listened to a sound check and interviewed members of the bands “Outasight” and “The Ready Set” before their NYC concert.

Congratulations to these budding young reporters!
