LVHS sophomore Sarah Miller recently performed in the Island Symphony Orchestra’s Annual Young Performers Competition. Sarah was chosen to compete based on recording she submitted of herself playing the Haydn Cello Concerto. Sarah was chosen as one of four finalists to perform for five of the Island Symphony Orchestra members/judges and took third place in the competition.

The Locust Valley Music Department is very proud of this accomplishment
“Sarah is a talented young cellist who is an active performer inside and outside of school,” said music teacher Marc Yavoski. “She has developed a beautiful tone and technique on her instrument. Sarah is always focused and conducts herself like a professional musician. I see a bright musical future ahead for her.”

Congratulations, Sarah!
