Thanksgiving is full of traditions, and at Ann MacArthur Primary School, the kindergarteners have a tradition of their own.  Each year the Kindergarten teachers, along with the specialty teachers work together to create a special Thanksgiving sing-a-long.

Students use their art skills to create costumes – half dress as Pilgrims and half dress as Native Americans.  Music lessons and social studies come in to play as they learn songs about giving thanks and the history of this American holiday.

What Thanksgiving celebration is complete without a feast? Families join their students for homemade Thanksgiving soup, corn bread, and popcorn eaten on Turkey shaped placemats, also created in class.

The event brings many smiles to students, staff, and their families and helps get everyone in the spirit for the holiday.
