Turkey and cranberry sauce, feathered headdresses and statements of thanks were the theme of the day when Bayville Primary School kindergarteners enjoyed learning about the holidays in a fun way.

Teachers and parent volunteers provided all the fixings for Thanksgiving feasts in Mrs. Sumcizk and Mrs. Dennis’ kindergarten classes before the holiday break. Assistant Principal Dorothy McManus said the children not only enjoyed the special holiday meal with their friends, but they learned about American history, tradition, and friendship. “The students learned about community, which is an important part of their education,” she explained. “The also used their art skills to create special costumes to wear for the feasts.”
