The LVCSD Coordinated Parents Council and Administrators put their own needs aside and in their usual volunteer mode collected for those hit hardest by Hurricane Sandy. The collection began at a barbecue for the community in Bayville. Donations were brought there to help those in need.  Bayville Elementary Assistant Principal Dorothy McManus and Locust Valley Elementary Assistant Principal Amy Watson offered their schools as drop off points for donations. The CPC, along with faculty members, gathered donations, organized them and delivered them to central locations where residents could easily access needed items.

Blankets, food and bottled water are available at the Village Church on Mountain Ave.  Additional blankets, clothing, paper goods, and toiletries have been sent to the Bayville Community Center on Bayville Avenue. Items collected at the Locust Valley Elementary Schools were donated to the Grenville Baker Boys and Girls Club.

Thanks to the CPC, Bayville Village employee Marie Alfono-Watson, Pastor Dave Czeisel, Mayor Watson, and LVCSD administrators and staff for being a part of this generous effort.
