Children from throughout the community came together at the high school for fun and games themed around the movie “Frozen.” Locust Valley Frozen included face painting, indoor sledding, a sing-along, cookie decorating and Olaf’s Beach Party.

Many children dressed in Disney costumes and went through each of the activities smiling and laughing. The event was sponsored by the high school student government and raised $500, which will be donated to the various grades and clubs. Each event was run by student government members and took place in separate classrooms along one corridor in the high school.

Student government advisor Joseph Enea said the fundraiser brings the community together and provides entertainment during the winter months. “It’s an opportunity for families to get together and have some fun with others in the community,” he said, adding that it also teaches the high school students about planning, organizing and leading special events.
