As the 2016-17 school year comes to an end, there is still plenty to celebrate and acknowledge. Many members of the Class of 2017 were recently recognized for their academic, artistic, athletic and altruistic achievements, earning $9.5 million in scholarships thanks to universities and community organizations.

Seniors were recognized for their achievements at the annual senior awards ceremony held on May 31, 2017. A separate athletic awards ceremony highlighted individual and team accomplishments and awarded the athletic scholarships to those recipients.

Many family members came out to applaud the seniors on their continued success as teachers, administrators, coaches and community leaders described the achievements and attributes that earned students the various awards. Awards were presented from 10 high school academic departments, and scholarships from nearly 40 community groups at the senior awards ceremony.

Many students were awarded scholarships from the colleges and universities to which they applied and were notified personally by those schools.

Congratulations to the Class of 2017!
