Two Locust Valley High School seniors were awarded the Nassau Zone Outstanding Physical Education Student of the Year award at a dinner held at the Crest Hollow Country Club on Dec. 12.

Patrick Briody and Erin Gresalfi were chosen for their excellence in physical education throughout high school. Award recipients must exhibit and embody characteristics of being a leader, demonstrate tolerance and acceptance of everyone, maintain at least a 90 GPA in physical education and be very active in athletics. Each Nassau County high school selects one male and one female from their senior class to receive the award.

Patrick is a talented and driven young man who leads by example. He has an impeccable work ethic and always places the needs of his classmates and teammates first. Patrick is a three-sport athlete in football, wrestling and baseball. Patrick will continue his wrestling career at Gettysburg College next fall.

Erin is a natural leader and possesses the ability to command a room when she enters it. She is a kind, caring and respectful young woman who is a strong two-sport student-athlete in field hockey and girls lacrosse. Erin is awaiting decisions from several top universities and considering pursuing field hockey.
