Locust Valley High School Junior Matthew Rizzo was awarded the Rensselaer Polytechnic University Medal Award. 

This honor is presented to promising secondary school students who have distinguished themselves in mathematics and science. Should Matthew apply to RPI during his senior year, and attend the university, he will receive a medal and a minimum of $25,000 in annual scholarship funds.

Matthew fits the profile for the RPI Medal Award perfectly with a GPA of 107.61 and scores above 700 in both the math and reading sections of the SAT.  His abilities and interest in math and science are strong and he has been a stellar Physics student and an integral member of the Robotics team.
