Robotics is in full swing with not only the high school team, but for the first time, the district also has a middle school team.

With three teams in total, the students have competed across Long Island and seen much success. The teams participate in the First Tech Challenge (FTC) program for grades 7-12 which challenges students to design, build, program, and operate robots to compete in head-to-head challenges in an alliance format.

Team Kuiper, Team FalconBots and Team LVAI (Locust Valley Artificial Intelligence) have competed in three competitions and learned a lot from both the preparation and the competition itself.

Team FalconBots won three awards at the First Tech Challenge on Jan. 28 earning them the opportunity to advance to the Long Island Regional Finals on Feb.11 in Smithtown. They took the Captain award for Winning Alliance; first place for the Control Award and third lace for the Inspire Award.

Congratulations to all members of our Robotics teams!
