The district’s Summer Recreation program was a huge success with 115 children attending during the program’s busiest week of the summer. From arts and crafts to science projects and field trips, children not only had fun, but enriched their education as well.

The program also gives teenagers the opportunity to work as counselors-in-training, gaining work and leadership experience –and the younger children look up to them as role models.

Forming new friendships is another benefit of the program and many campers will be excited to see their new friends in school or to attend summer recreation with them again next year.

The program is run by Monica Cagney and registration for next year will be available in the spring of 2017.
