Dressed as pilgrims and Native Americans, kindergarteners at Ann MacArthur Primary School entertained their visiting families with songs about the Thanksgiving holiday. Following their performance, they enjoyed homemade soup with their guests, which each class made from scratch.

Carrots, onions, celery, chicken broth and all the ingredients to make the soup delicious were brought in by students and added to the pots with the assistance of their teachers. The activity helped to foster the Thanksgiving spirit, and reinforced lessons on following directions.

“The kindergarteners have so much fun making the soup, yet at the same time they are learning about measuring, following instructions and working together,” said Dr. Sophia Gary, Principal.
