Locust Valley gardeners are always hard at work keeping the high school garden thriving with flowers and vegetables. With the support of community members, the Garden Club spent a recent Saturday redesigning the garden. The new design is based on blueprints donated by Locust Valley’s M & A Organics.

The day was made especially meaningful by the dedication of three fruit trees generously donated by The McCabe Family. Each tree is in honor of the graduating classes of the McCabe children – 2000, 2005 and 2014.

Students, staff and residents worked for many hours to relocate garlic planted in the fall and to plant blueberry bushes and perennial shrubs native to Long Island.

The Garden Club will continue to meet during the months of July and August to harvest, plant and have fun. New members are always welcome. Contact Ms. Hament at or Ms. Anderson at for more information.
