A blood drive will be held at Bayville Intermediate School on Thursday, April 26 from 2-7 p.m. in honor of third-grader Brandon VonBargen. Brandon was recently diagnosed with APML, a type of leukemia. Upon diagnosis, Brandon needed a tremendous amount of blood due to very low red, white and platelet counts. The blood he received was life-saving at the moment.

In cooperation with Brandon’s family, the blood drive is being held to benefit others as they deal with both acute and chronic injuries and illnesses. The Matthew Fetzer Foundation will be on site to swab anyone interested in becoming a potential bone marrow donor.

Every person to register at the blood drive (even those that do not donate blood) will receive two tickets to a NY Yankees baseball game in August. Students that refer five people to the blood drive will receive three tickets. The hope is that Brandon will be healthy enough to attend the game as well.

Please come out to support this important blood drive in the Bayville Intermediate School Auditorium gymnasium.
