On Thursday, January 21 at St. Anthony’s HS, The Girls Varsity Winter Track Team finished in 4th place in the Nassau County Conference 6 Championships.  Senior Karissa Chiantella led the team as she earned All-Conference Honors in 3 events; 1st place 1000m, 2nd place 1500m, 2nd place Triple Jump. The O’Neil sisters helped the point total with Senior Fiona O’Neil finishing in 6th place overall in the 1000m and Grainne O’Neil breaking a school record in the 600m finishing 8th overall.  Sprinters Kayla Graziani, Denise Beauchamp, and Stephanie Mysholowsky finished the individual events with personal bests in the 300m.

The Boys Winter Track and Field Team had an outstanding evening as each team member reached a personal best during the Nassau County Conference 6 Championships at Suffolk Community College.  Numerous school records were set throughout the night.  Senior Henry Jansen started the record breaking night with a 4th place finish in the 600m breaking a school record shared by 4 athletes. Sophomore Tom Parisi followed with a 4th place finish in the long jump with a school record of 17'5"!  Henry and Tom were also apart of two relay teams that broke school records.  Henry led off the 4x800m relay followed by Captain Matt Rieger, senior John Udisky, and sophomore Kevin Jania.  Parisi led off the 4x200m relay followed by seniors Rob Converse, Wally Gurzynski, and sophomore Kevin Jania.  Sophomore Peter Hogya contributed to the teams overall point total as he paced 5th in the shot put with a season high 33'11"!
