An impressive 70 students were inducted into the National Honor Society at a traditional ceremony at Locust Valley High School on December 9, 2009.

LVHS Principal Dr. Kieran McGuire spoke to the inductees about the qualifications needed to be invited into this exclusive society. Students must exhibit scholarship, service, leadership, and character. Dr. McGuire described what is meant by those qualifications and said the inductees are all exemplary students and citizens.

High School students Eric Padilla and Zoe Vinegar each performed a piano solo during the evening’s ceremony. Zoe was inducted into the National Honor Society during the ceremony, while Eric was already a member. Inductees participated in the traditional candle lighting ceremony and recited the National Honor Society pledge. They also signed the National Honor Society book.

Board of Education President Jack Dolce and Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Anna Hunderfund addressed the inductees and their guests and offered their congratulations on such an incredible accomplishment.

Congratulations to all the new inductees!
