Each year at Ann MacArthur Primary School, the Thanksgiving holiday is kicked off with a reenactment of the Mayflower Crossing by Kindergarten classes. This year was no different. Dressed as Pilgrims and Native Americans, the students acted out the event complete with songs about the historical moment.

Participating in the annual Crossing of the Mayflower not only teaches kindergarteners about the history of our forefathers, but also enhances their art, music, and presentation skills. All the costumes are created in the classrooms and decorated by each “Pilgrim” or “Native American.”  The activity brings together many aspects of the curriculum and is enjoyed by the participants as well as their parents who are invited to attend.
