The artwork of two Locust Valley student artists was chosen to be featured in the "Long Island's Best Young Artists" exhibition at The Heckscher Museum of Art.

Nicole Wolert and Jan Kipper were juried by The Heckscher's Curator of Collections Lisa Chalif and new this year, they had a guest juror and artist: Cindy Grimm, Assistant Director of the Whaling Museum and Education Center of Cold Spring Harbor. 

Jan was awarded the Donald and Gloria Horn Scholarship for his painting.   Joy Weiner, Director of Education and Public Programs at the Heckscher Museum of Art said, this was the most competitive year ever, with 387 submissions sent in from 56 High Schools. Only 84 pieces of artwork were selected for the exhibit.

Their artwork is on view from March 11th- April 9th, with an opening reception on March 18th from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. followed by an awards ceremony at 6:00 p.m.
