LVHS seniors Tyler Fallon and Christina Boutros took third place out of 72 teams in the chemistry event at the Western Long Island Regional Science Olympiad competition.

Thirty LVHS students participated in the competition, which involved twenty different events from all areas of science.  Some of the events were pen and paper tests; others involved the students constructing towers designed to support a weight up to 15KG (about 30 pounds), a gravity car, and a magnetic levitation sled.

Tyler and Christina competed in the several events, including a chemistry lab. This event was a combination of test questions and lab activities.

Congratulations to Tyler, Christina, and the entire team for a job well done!
