Tyler Fallon has been named the Class of 2012 Valedictorian. Tyler is a National Merit Commended Scholar and the recipient of an abundance of academic awards from Outstanding Achievement in Math, Chemistry, Physics, Social Studies, Spanish, English, and European History to the William Hawthorne Award for Excellence in American History. He is a member of the National Honor Society, National Society of High School Scholars, and the Foreign Language Honor Society in Spanish.  

He has pursued the most demanding academic program offered at Locust Valley High School including Honors, Advanced Placement, and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program. An AP Scholar with Distinction, Tyler earned a perfect score on five AP exams. Tyler has gone above and beyond what is required of an IB Diploma candidate by taking four of the most challenging Higher Level (HL) IB classes offered, as only three HL courses are required. He has also taken eight IB classes when only six are required for the IB Diploma.  

Tyler is the Co-Editor-in Chief of the high school’s award-winning newspaper, The Spectrum. He founded the JV Quiz Bowl Team, and this year he is Captain of the Senior Quiz Bowl Team. He is also Captain of Science Olympiads, an integral member of Mathletes, Mock Trial and the Engineering Club. Tyler is a Scholar Athlete and a on the Varsity Football team.
