Homecoming Victory!

Spirit soared at Locust Valley High School Homecoming as the fans cheered the Falcons on to a 31-19 win over the North Shore Vikings. In the bleachers was a sea of green and all that could be heard were cheers and chants from the Falcon faithfuls.

The varsity football team played hard from the start and never gave up, keeping the lead for the entire game. It was easy for the cheerleaders and kickline to show their enthusiasm for the Falcons as they performed during halftime. The cheerleaders also kept spirits high throughout the game, with special guest performances by the middle school cheerleaders and the Oyster Bay Generals cheerleaders.

Seniors Samantha Nugent and Keenan Herlich were crowned Homecoming Queen and King. Juniors Julia Sparacino and Jay Johnson were crowned Homecoming Princess and Prince. The juniors took home the awards for best float and most spirited, earning them $200 towards their prom for each award.

The homecoming floats, which depicted the Luau theme, were displayed throughout the community during the homecoming parade. Special thanks goes to the local fire departments for serving as escorts. Appreciation also goes out to the Locust Valley High School Parents’ Council for providing a festive carnival following the parade. Of course, Athletic Council deserves credit for planning, organizing and pulling off one of the best Homecomings in Locust Valley history.

Way to go Falcons!
