Dear LVCSD Families,

As you know, in March our district initiated water testing for lead and other contaminants of more than 300 drinking fountains and sinks in our schools.

I am pleased to report that water from 290 of these sources met EPA standards and that through guaranteed daily "flushing," the remainder of those accessible to students and faculty have continued to meet EPA standards as well.

This summer, we look forward to implementing permanent remediations (including demolition and pipe and faucet replacement) so that water from all drinking fountains and sinks is easily accessible and meets EPA standards without the need for "flushing."

Thank you for your ongoing support and encouragement!

Sincerely,

Anna F. Hunderfund
