A new and innovative program at LVHS is just the answer for students with questions about a lesson, or those looking to delve deeper into a topic. The Academic Center is a place where any student can go during lunch or study hall to get extra help from a high school teacher in any subject. The center is staffed every period of the day with teachers from each of the core academic areas.

“This is a way for students to get one-on-one help from one of our very own teachers,” explained High School Principal Dr. Kieran McGuire. “Sometimes that help can mean a world of difference in a student’s success.” Students can bring homework they are having difficulty with, class work they don’t feel comfortable with, or study notes for an exam.

The response to the program has been incredible, with the center constantly abuzz with learning!
