LVHS is proud to announce that two students have been named Commended Students in the 2012 National Merit Scholarship Program. Seniors Tyler Fallon and Natasha Jahchan received this honor for their top performance on the PSAT /NMSQT (Preliminary SAT/National Merit Qualifying Test) in 2010, during their Junior year.

More than one million students took the PSAT in 2010, and Natasha and Tyler placed in the top five percent of those students. “The young men and women being named Commended Students have demonstrated outstanding potential for academic success,” stated a spokesperson for the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC). “These students represent a valuable national resource; recognizing their accomplishments, as well as the key role their schools play in their academic development, is vital to the advancement of educational excellence in our nation.”

LVHS Senior Hannah Milnes was named a National Merit Semifinalist earlier this month. The high school has had students honored by the NMSC for several years, with some going on to become finalists and receiving scholarships.

Congratulations to Tyler and Natasha on this outstanding achievement!
