LVHS student Gabrielle Yeager has earned an Award of Merit in the Long Island Arts Alliance Scholar-Artist Program. Gabrielle received this honor after submitting two photographs taken in Sicily, Italy.
The contest was designed to recognize student artists and acknowledge “the best-of-the-best” on Long Island. The Scholar-Artist program mirrors the Scholar-Athlete programs, requiring exceptional talent along with equally exceptional academics. High school seniors are nominated by their school districts, and ten each from Nassau and Suffolk receive the program’s highest honor. Gabrielle was nominated by LVHS art teacher, Donna Chaplin.
Gabby was chosen as a student that was exceptionally accomplished in her field (photography) and also held an unweighted GPA of 90 or above. Because of her artistic talent and exceptional scholarship, she was one of only 40 students on Long Island to receive an Award of Merit.
Congratulations to Gabrielle and to Ms. Chaplin on this outstanding achievement!
