Beginning Thursday, September 17, there will be a morning PSAT review session from 6:40-7:40 a.m. in room 235.  This session  will continue Monday -Thursday mornings from 6:40-7:40 p.m. in room 235. Students must register for the PSAT review sessions in the High School main office.

Locust Valley High School is offering a free PSAT review course which began on Monday Sept. 14th. All sophomores and juniors are encouraged to take the PSAT/NMSQT examination which will be administered on October 17 in the High School cafeteria.  This exam provides valuable practice for the SAT. More importantly, it will help students identify strengths as well as the areas that need improvement prior to the SAT.

Additionally, students who perform well on the PSAT/NMSQT may earn commendations and National Merit Scholarships amounting to thousands of dollars.  In addition, the College Board shares the names of students who earn these distinctions with colleges and universities.  These scholarships are based solely on performance on the PSAT.

Last year, a record number of Locust Valley High School students qualified for these national honors.

This course and the study materials are provided at no cost. Parents are asked to encourage students to take advantage of this important opportunity and to have students register in the Main Office at the High School as soon as possible.
