The staff of the Locust Valley Central School District joined together prior to the first day of school for Superintendent’s Conference Day. With the attendance of teachers, teaching assistants, administrators, maintenance staff, secretaries, and more, the day provided an opportunity for staff members to share ideas, learn from one another, and prepare for the start of the 2011-2012 school year.

The morning began with inspirational welcoming remarks from Superintendent Dr. Anna F. Hunderfund, She reminded the staff that they have some of the most important jobs in the world.

Staff members at each school gathered by department to discuss goals, technology, communications, and more throughout the day. “This is an opportunity for the staff to come together in one place and share ideas. It’s not often that the entire staff is in one place and I have the opportunity to address everyone at the same time,” Dr. Hunderfund said. “It is important we feel cohesive and that they know just how much they are appreciated.”

Many teachers had been in their individual schools prior to Superintendent’s Conference Day setting up their classrooms and creating their lesson plans.

Welcome back to school, staff and students!
