There was excitement in the air at Locust Valley Middle School, with the sixth graders filling the halls, cafeteria and classrooms during their orientation session. Seventh graders were on hand to give tours, lessons on opening lockers, and tips about getting around the building. This bright-eyed group listened attentively as they were taught the rules of the cafeteria, the hallways, and the classrooms. Middle School Principal, Mr. Hogan, with the help of Assistant Principal, Ms. Green and the Dean, Mr. LoGerfo, helped the students feel comfortable with the changing of classes, reading their schedules, and arrival and dismissal routines.

Friendships were being made as students from Locust Valley and Bayville Intermediate Schools compared schedules, shared stories of their summers, and learned that they were embarking on a wonderful new adventure together!

Thank you to the seventh-grade volunteers and the Parent Council for their help in making orientation a success. Of course, welcome to the sixth-grade class!
