Musicians Earn Selective Scholarships

Locust Valley High School seniors Sarah Miller and Patrick Wilhelm are two of only four high school students from Long Island, Brooklyn and Queens to receive $500 scholarships from the Long Island Music Hall of Fame. This is the first time in the scholarship’s history that two of the four students have been from the same high school.

The scholarship application is open every year to all high school seniors who are interested in pursuing a career in music and are accepted full-time to an accredited college or university. Sarah and Patrick each submitted an essay, a letter of recommendation and their high school transcripts.

The two were honored with two other scholarship recipients at a reception hosted by the Long Island Music Hall of Fame. The organization’s mission is to educate the public about the wealth of musical heritage that is part of Long Island’s history and future.

Congratulations to Sarah and Patrick on being chosen for this extremely selective honor!
