Locust Valley Intermediate School students recently jumped for joy when they learned that they had raised $3,000 for the American Heart Association. The students participated in the annual “Jump Rope for Heart” event after school, which has raised more than $38,000 over the past six years.

Physical education teachers Mr. Dan McAndrew and Mr. Kyle Simensky supervised and coordinated the event, in which fifty-two students had the opportunity to have fun with their friends after school while learning the importance of physical activity and community service. Students raised the money through sponsorship by friends and family members.

Great job jump roping for a great cause!
