Working together to ensure a successful school year, the LVCSD staff returned to work on Aug. 28 for Superintendent’s Conference Day. Employees met with their building principals and colleagues to prepare for the first day of school.

Teachers, teaching assistants and clerical staff received training on the Dignity for all Students Act (DASA), which includes bully prevention training.

Teachers also spent time in their classrooms making sure that the rooms are organized in a way that is conducive to learning and that students will feel at home. Many of these teachers started preparing for school weeks ago.

“We have a highly dedicated and accomplished faculty, who are planning diligently to ensure that from the first day of school, our students will receive the same high quality education which they have received in the past,” said Superintendent Dr. Anna F. Hunderfund. “Fortunately, September 2nd will provide us with the most important part of our educational equation---our students!”
