The LVHS Boys Varsity Lacrosse team advanced to the Nassau County Class C Championships! The Falcons defeated rival Friends Academy in an epic battle 13-11 to advance. They will now face number one seed Cold Spring Harbor on Thursday, May 27 at 8 p.m. at Hofstra University. Tickets are $6 at the gate.

The team had an exciting season and finished third in the conference earning an overall record of 11-4. The season began with a very difficult non-league schedule and a great victory over Class A powerhouse Port Washington. The Falcons team is led by a solid group of seniors including Sam Farren, Joe Bressingham and Matt Vezza, all of whom will be continuing their lacrosse careers in college next year. Other key seniors have contributed greatly to the teams success, including defenseman John Piscitello, goalie Frank Mongiello, Louis Jokinsky and Ian Conn. Not only is this a talented group, but the team as a whole shows great character and leadership skills.

The offense is fueled by talented underclassmen led by the dynamic twin brother combination of Joe and Mike Madsen. Sophomore standouts Tyler Liantonio and Owen Trepeta also contribute to the offensive threat of the Falcons, along with freshman Angelo Caiazzo. The team is led by a tremendous group of coaches, including Head Coach Matt McFarland and Assistant Coaches Mike Gallagher and Steven Genovese.
