The Locust Valley High School Girls Varsity Softball team had a phenomenal season earning an overall record of 17-1 and an unprecedented conference record of 16-0 and earning the Nassau County Conference V Championship title. The team had strong performances led by Junior Captain Lauren Sabatino. She earned an undefeated season record of 16-0 as a pitcher but more impressively, had an explosive bat at the plate. She is tied for first in Nassau County for most homeruns in the regular season with six. Also, five-year varsity starter senior Jackie D’Elia was dynamic as always at shortstop as well as one of the team’s most consistent offensive threats. Other key contributors to this year’s success were junior third baseman Briana Mahoney, a versatile and talented player and freshman Taylor LoMonaco. The team affectionately refers to her as the “clutch.” As a freshman centerfielder, she had one of the highest batting averages on the team and performed well during pressure situations.

Congratulations to Coach Nadine Pacifico for earning Conference V Coach of the Year. Great job by Assistant Coach Jen Masa as well!
