Locust Valley High School senior Angelo Marciano had the opportunity of a lifetime when he was chosen to be an on-air reporter for MSG Varsity at the Long Island Music Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony.

Angelo’s experience public speaking and in the TV Media program at the high school qualified him as the perfect candidate for the job. He is the Student Body President and the student representative to the Board of Education.

Angelo attended the music awards ceremony and gala held at Oheka Castle in Huntington and had the opportunity to personally interview the inductees as they walked the red carpet and in the press room afterwards. Celebrities included Lou Reed, The Shangri-Las, Eddie Money, Erik B & Rakim, Bob Gruen, Morton Gould, and more. During the event, Angelo not only interviewed celebrities, preparing questions ahead of time, but also learned tips of the trade from professional news reporters, anchors, and photographers as he worked side by side with them. The experience will be invaluable to him as he intends to major in communications in college next year.

Additionally, Angelo was interviewed by MSG Varsity for a feature they are producing about the students who participated in this event. Angelo was one of only five students across Long Island to be chosen for this opportunity.

You can see Angelo in action on MSG Varsity, Tuesday, November 30th at 7:00 p.m.
