The Locust Valley Elementary Parents’ Council sponsored the Annual Family Picnic and Book Fair at Ann MacArthur Primary School, bringing students in Kindergarten through fifth grade and their families together for fun, food and friendship.

The late afternoon sunshine made for a perfect day to dance to music provided by a DJ, jump on giant inflatable slides and participate in activities such as face painting. Inside, children could be found browsing a wide variety of books at the book fair. Many students purchased fiction, non-fiction and biographies and some were spotted reading their new books on blankets outside.

Locust Valley Elementary School Assistant Principal Amy Watson said that the generosity of the LVE Parents’ Council provides an enriching opportunity for the students.  “We are so grateful for the effort that goes into planning this wonderful event. It is something we could not provide for the children without the Parents’ Council.”
