While students enjoyed the last few days of summer vacation, the LVCSD faculty returned to school and began working hard to prepare for the 2013-2014 school year. Although many teachers and administrators spent time in the schools during the summer, Superintendent’s Conference Day was the first official day back when all faculty members were together since June.

The day’s agenda included training in various areas including DASA (Dignity for All Students Act). High School Assistant Principal Rebecca Gottesman, the DASA Chairperson, conducted the training for many of the faculty members.  This training will be completed in all of the schools during the next few weeks.

Workshops regarding the use of new technology and discussions regarding necessary curriculum were also part of Superintendent’s Conference Day. Finishing touches were also made to classrooms, although room organization and decoration has been going on for days as many teachers came in on their own time to make sure things were just perfect prior to their students’ arrival on the first day.

The faculty, staff and administration are all looking forward to a wonderful 2013-2014 school year and to seeing the students on Tuesday, September 3rd!
