The Locust Valley Central School District welcomed seven new faculty members during New Teacher Orientation beginning on August 27. These teachers were hired due to retirements and leave replacement needs.

The newest members of the Locust Valley School District community were welcomed by our Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Anna Hunderfund, our Board of Education members as well as our district administrators. They were introduced to school administrators, curriculum leaders and colleagues, and were provided with information regarding many topics. In addition, they were given access to the classrooms and/or offices which they will be using to teach and/or meet with Locust Valley School District students throughout the 2010-2011 school year.

The faculty members include Bryan Beach, High School Mathematics; Beth Deaner-Cohen, Primary School Library Media Specialist; Julie Feltman, Middle School Science; Rebecca Gottesman, High School Assistant Principal; Amanda Gerome, Middle School/High School Music; Kelly Reno, High School Guidance Counselor; Eva Suarez, High School Mathematics; and Richard Miller, Director of Special Education and Pupil Services.

The Locust Valley Board of Education, administration, staff, faculty and students look forward to working with these new members of the faculty and wish them much success and all the best in the year to come!
